I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Houston, Texas. I hold a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas and a Masters of Arts in Counseling with concentrations in License Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. I have worked in mental health and social services for a combination of over 12 years.
My primary focus is helping individual’s process traumatic events and develop coping skills to assist you in your daily life. What is trauma? Anything affecting your ability to live, laugh, and love. Trauma has no boundaries with regard to age, gender, socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Examples of trauma include bullying, domestic violence, sexual abuse, surviving a catastrophic events, such as war, generational and cultural traumas.
I have experience working with veterans and their family members as well as the LGBTQ community, chronically homeless, individual’s experiencing severe mental health issues, work-place trauma. I enjoy working with couples to help them learn how to communicate effectively with each other. I will create a safe non judgmental space for you. I treat everyone individually, we all may have some striking similarities, but we are all different and unique in our own way. No one approach will work for everyone. I use an integrated approach to help you own and honor your unique path to healing.
